2012 Buick LaCrosse Jacksonville FL

2012 Buick LaCrosse Buick has more than doubled the number of trims available for its new 2012 LaCrosse. New engines further the changes in this midsized, entry-level luxury sedan. Trim levels include the Base, Convenience, Leather, Premium I, II and III and also the Touring.

The LaCrosse exterior retains a classic silhouette that advertises its luxury-car status. A broad front end features a prominent grille flanked by automatic, halogen headlights. The body has wide, smoothly integrated taillights and slightly sculpted doors that add style. All models have acoustic glass for noise reduction and heated, power exterior mirrors. Mirror features increase with the trims. Various wheel styles are available for

most models, although the Base offers 17-inch alloys only and the Touring choices include only 19-inch options. Fog lamps become standard on the Leather trim, while articulating Xenon headlamps are optional on Premium models and standard on the Touring.

The big news for LaCrosse is the eAssist hybrid technology. It comes with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine accompanied by an 11-kilowatt electric motor. These combine with an automatic, six-speed transmission to deliver 182 horsepower and 172 lbs/ft of torque. Regenerative braking charges the lithium-ion battery and automatic grille shutters improve aerodynamics at high speeds, increasing the already notable EPA estimates of 25 and 36 mpg for city and highway respectively. The hybrid is standard on the Base and Convenience models and optional for the Leather and Premium I. A 3.6-liter, V6 engine that delivers an improved 303 horsepower and 264 lbs/ft of torque is standard on the Premium II and above and optional for two levels lower. These come with a six-speed, automatic transmission and either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. EPA mileage estimates reach 17 city mpg and 27 highway mpg.

Abundant safety features are standard on all models, such as antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control and airbags, including front, side-impact bags and full-length, side-curtain airbags. Side, rear-seat airbags are optional on all models. OnStar tracking for various monitoring and emergency services is also standard. Rear Parking Assist and an airbag passenger-sensing system become standard with Premium models.

Interior features naturally vary by trim, yet many standard elements are included. A power driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth and an extensive array of audio features are standard on the Base model. The Convenience trim adds remote ignition and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Leather model logically includes leather upholstery and adds heated front seats and a full-power passenger seat.

The Premium I includes driver's seat memory and optional Blind-Zone Alert. The Premium II adds ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel

and a passive-entry system. The Premium III upgrades the stereo from seven speakers to 11 and adds a 120-volt power outlet, which is optional on the Premium I and II. The Touring model hits the heights with a rearview camera, navigation system, standard Blind-Zone Alert, digital music storage and a Head-Up Display that projects vehicle information onto the windshield for viewing ease.

The rearview camera, navigation system and the Head-Up Display are optional on the Premium trims. A rear-seat entertainment system is optional for Premium and Touring models.
